Nope, mine came factory fitted and has an address when scanned with vcds.   

Cool, then I stand corrected. So then it must be 2007 onwards had that then as you say. I know my car has it, but it is infuriating as it never puts the mirror back to exactly where it was before so after every 4th time, I need to readjust the mirror, lol.

Be aware that the folding mirrors on the MK5 are not great - they fold about 10mm in which is pretty pointless (doesn't offer any more protection) and they don't fold automatically when you lock the car etc...

This guy has put SEAT door controllers in to allow them to fold remotely (They are manually done on the mirror switch) but gives a good idea of how far they fold:

I decided £400 to £800 for a pair of mirrors was money better spent elsewhere. I fitted high power LED's in the mirrors instead for about a tenner - really pleased with them.
