What sort of GTI driver are you?
« on: May 13, 2013, 08:25:21 am »
Found a quote from a few years which I found

"I've noticed Golf GTi drivers to be quite difficult as a general rule. They are either young lads who want to race everything on the road, early 30's guys that get extremely annoyed if you want to go quicker than them: "I'm in a GTi you know, nothing is quicker than me". Or the latter category of some guy in his late 40's who has had a diluted mid life crisis and bought one to remind him of the 80's and spends all his life in lane 3 of the motorway regardless of what is going on around him."

Seeing as we divided into three categories, I guess I fall into number 1 but I don't race everything on the road!

What are you?! (Bet an BMW driver wrote this!)

I probably fall into the first catergory. I dont race everything on the road because there is a tim and a place and i just dont trust other drivers.

However i do like to drive my GTI fast when i get a chance, but generally the roads are too crouded for this anyway.

Number 1 due to age. I only go silly on the road when an idiot in a saxo or 206 type thing needs putting in there place. Amazing how taking a few corners faster than them makes them back off haha

20 years ago I was in the 1st category and was ALWAYS in a hurry and thought I was the dogs boll*cks at driving,  nowadays I drive like Miss Daisy and can't be arsed with willy waving.

After all, its only a Golf and not an Aventador.  :happy2:

80% of the time none of the above.

The other 20% is a combination of 1 & 2 (I will be 30 in a few months).

I only put the foot down when it is safe to do so and the other car is asking for it.
I didn't realise a stage 1 Pirelli could keep up with an early 2000's 911 Carerra S (he didn't look to happy about it!)  :driver:

There are the odd Corsa's and Clio's that burn off the lights. Most of them I leave to it, but sometimes I like to shoot fish in barrels!  :fighting:
