Best products for a reflex silver
« on: May 13, 2013, 09:20:40 am »
Can anyone recommend any cleaning products for a reflex silver gti? My GTI is due on Friday and I want to order a few things before it turns up!

I was looking at clearkote's vanilla moose and opti-seal from reviews, but can anyone recommend/post pictures of what they've used?

Cheers  :happy2:

I'm total newb to "detailing", but I was pretty impressed by the results I got on my silver Jetta with AutoGlym SRP, followed by the Chemical Guys XXX wax.

Hi,

If you do not have access to a polishing machine and your applying by hand AG SRP is excellent and very underrated. It needs to worked though.
On silver, finished with Chemical Guys Black light would give amazing results.

This might help if you haven't already spent your dosh:

I washed my car today - longest i've ever gone between washes since owning her, about 5 months i reckon whereas before i'd wash her every 3 weeks or less...  :ashamed: anyhow she cleaned up nicely with 2 washes using the Megs mirror glaze shampoo and i've now started using Megs Ultimate quick wax as i don't have the time for using the Dodo Juice. Megs goes on easy as a spray, wipe down with microfibre and then buff with a buffing cloth. I'll post up some results.

No such thing as a wonder product.

It's all in the technique... once you get past a point of cheap turtle-wax styley product you can use pretty much anything and it will look the same..
Decontaminate the paint, clay, polish/enhance, whatever, and seal.

Not bad guys!

Just getting used to it as my last car was dark, so this is completely new to me!

Hopefully I'll gut it and do a full detail with the rotary in the next few months.
