How to spend £500
« on: May 18, 2013, 11:10:24 am »
I've had a bit of a hot run in the casino recently and have a spare £500 which I am trying to work out what to spend it on... I'm toying with the idea of a DSG remap, which after talking to Revo would best be the stage 2 map.  This comes in at £399 + VAT. My concern with this is that  I'm not 100% sure my box is in top condition as I sometimes almost stall a couple of times when pulling off my sloping drive when cold. Also I cannot resell the software when I change the car in the future.

My other thoughts are to be boring and keep it for tyres and/or insurance. Or go for some handling mods like springs and better anti roll bars, both of which are stock at the moment.

What're people's thoughts?

I've got the same then but I've also got the DSG software, IC plus other bits.

Have you upgraded the rear brakes?

What wheels and tyres are you running?

I'd def consider an Intercooler, lowering springs, Arbs, and possibly tyre or brake upgrades before the dsg map.

Springs will make a huge difference in both handling and looks. An upgraded Intercooler will just keep your car running cooler and healthier.

Tyres make a HUGE difference.

Springs, Arbs are great choice then.

What about decent tyres? R32 rear brakes?

Sounds like you have lots of the boxes ticked
