Climate Control not working

I have a problem with my climate control and hope there is an expert out there that can point me in the right direction.

Stopped working months ago. It had run low on gas which was due to a leaking condenser which I had replaced but still not working. Had Kwik Fit's air con specialist run some tests which revealed the compressor was switching on but immediately cutting off. He advised the pressure switch was a very likely cause so I've now replaced this and it still doesn't work.

Loathe to now buy a compressor as I don't believe both the condensor and compressor packed up at the same time! One person advised me they both work together and that the leaking condenser could lead to compressor burning out. Someone else said this can't happen as the pressure switch would kick in and turn off the compressor to avoid it being damaged.

Needless to say I am now scratching my head. Don't know who is telling the truth or what the problem is. I have had dye tests run and there are no leaks and there is definitely power getting to the compressor. Please can anyone shed any light.

Cheers.
