Will I lose my maps ?
« on: May 20, 2013, 07:37:54 pm »
Bit of advice please guys  :stupid:

I've  had my ED30 DSG (08) coming up to a year now, I bought it from the main dealer.

When I bought the car it had 2 years free servicing included.

Since having the car it's been treated to St 1 revo engine map + DSG map   :innocent:

So if I book it in for a service , will both maps be swiped of it for any reason ?, I've also had it lowered and upgraded the

brakes , just wondered if they could  start being funny because I've modified he car ,maybe invalidating the free servicing ?????

Cheers

Joff

Unless they apply an ECU update your map will be fine. Perhaps just specify that they don't update any ECU files and no it would have no advice on the free servicing...

Worth specifying that they don't update the ECU map. Also you will lose your Revo settings if they disconnect the battery for any reason

What happens when you need to replace your battery?

You either buy an SPS or find someone with one and turn your map back on.

It's probably quite useful at this point if you know what your settings are.  :happy2:
