My new toy!!
« on: July 26, 2013, 06:34:41 pm »
Seen on eBay locally, my dad decided to buy it for me (I'm a little skint from getting my jetta fixed!)

Listed as 127k, it's had 6 previous owners, upto 2006 it had only 88,000 on the clock. Over the last 2 years its only done 12 miles, this passed year with the previous owner he added a further 5000 miles.

It's rough around the edges, has a few running problems. My plans are to restore it to full factory spec, with a few oem+ mods - it's got some very hard lowered springs & shocks. They need to come off!!

Spent about 3 evenings cleaning all the crud from under the bonnet

Sorted the vacuum leak too!!

Spent this evening doing a few things to the car:-
Genuine set of Bosch W7DTC plugs
New ignition control module
Swopped back to old MAF
Put the original tail lights back on
Colour coded plinth replace with black textured one

More parts being collected tomorrow, new expansion bottle, temp sensors, fluid level sensor.

Also going to sort the brakes out soon, handbrake is almost non-existent, the rear discs and pads need changed.

Any feedback gladly received! :-)

Just had Trev up from Edinburgh for me to change his fan set & clean out his EGR.

The golf's just had new dash speakers, switched live to the headunit. And also decided one modern aftermarket piece of equipment needed to be fitted - parrot hands free kit.
