Picture request r32 rear
« on: May 22, 2013, 10:27:30 pm »
Hi

I haven't got my mk5 gti yet but I'm already planning a few tweaks  what I want is a picture of a gti from the side with a mk5 r32 rear bumper on but with the front and side skirt still the black original ones vw fitted from the factory. I've looked but can only find one with r32 rear but with the rest of the car colour coded. Oh and any colour but black, thanks

Thanks for that, no I don't like it looks odd without the rest colour coded. I didn't think it would of looked good but I just wanted to see to make sure. I love the look from behind the car with the r bumper but IMO I think the black trim looks better on the front and side but how the pic is it don't work. But if I want that r bumper i would have to get the rest done hmmm

Love the R32 rear :happy2:

Also doesn't look too bad, with the unpainted side skirts, on a black car. A few pics of mine:

Kalpesh, your looks as good as OEM as its Black but REALLY not keen on any other colour car with a painted R32 bum and the GTI unpainted textured skirts and spoiler.

Nice whip :happy2: yeah looks good on a black car with the black skirts, if I was getting a black car I wouldn't think twice about the r32 rear, but I don't want a black one although they are still very nice. I still don't hate the rear bumper and black skirts on a standard gti as it seems many do hate it I just fancy a r rear.

Cheers guys :happy2:

Yeah if I had any other colour I would definitely colour code the skirts.

Also if I do get the r bumper on (just wanting the r32 style exhaust) do I get the catback for the actual r32 or is there a r32 style exhaust that's ment for the gti?

^^^^ You need to buy a R32 style exhaust for a GTI as an OEM R32 one won't fit onto the rest of the standard GTI system. Plenty of peeps make these. Current flavour of the month (for good reason) is BCS which you can see being modelled by kalpsn2000 above.

To be honest I think the unpainted side skirts and front splitter tie in with the unpainted section where the exhaust exits in the rear R32 bumper. If it was an Ed30 rear valance that doesnt have any unpainted black plastic on it , then it wouldnt work at all , but with the R32 I think you could get away with it.

.
The Mk5 R32 rear bumper has cutouts which allow all the configurations of exhaust tips - You then just need the appropriate exhaust trim.

^^^^ Always like the look of those quads!  :notworthy:

I've got an R32 rear end to go on and have ordered an SRS-Tec diffuser to allow for my standard exit exhaust to show off the new BCS Powervalve TBE. Same as below.....
