Soooo....

I bought lots of detailing kit as I am off for four days and had nothing to do, looking at the forecast it was set to be a belter of a weekend.

I went all out on the autoglym products, some good kit for a moderate ameture detailing session lol

After my nightshift finishing at 6 am I had  2 and a half hours sleep and then got up to start the day, off for some breakfast and started at 10am.

This is what the car looked like before I started.

Firstly foamed the car twice as after the first i had some spare foam and didnt want it to go to waste.  After the foam it was a 2 bucket method with autoglym body shampoo and a lambswool kit.

After washing the car was fully dried and ready to be clayed, fully clayed left the paint in excellent condition.

Once clayed it was time for polishing, I was using autoglym super resin polish and the super polishing cloth, car was absolutley gleaming after the polishing.

Once the whole car was polished I used the autoglym High Def Cleanser prior to waxing with autoglym High Definition wax.

After Cleansing ...

And after Waxing .....

What a finish this produced :D:D

Was pushing on 8pm now and I hadn't stopped all day so to finish off I used some trim restorer gel to go over the grille.

I was amazed with the shine that came from the car especially as i was hand polishing.  I can only imagine what it would look like with a professional detailer doing the job.

In a few months I thing I'm going to go for paint correction treatment by a pro as once it was foamed there were alot of swirl marks and light scratches.

Now All I need is a bluetooth headunit to connect my phone as I hate burning CD's lol.

let me know what you think of the car :D

Car looks good, nice work.

No point drying before claying the car and your foam mix wouldn't have gone to waste, it'll keep in the bottle until the next time you use it.

This colour is always a winner , nice work pal came up nice!  :happy2:

One tip whatever you have dressed the tyres with, looks like a liquid, maybe AG Tyre Dressing? Give it a wipe down after with an old MF towel to avoid slinging and patchy drying, also avoids odd stains on camera!

Why pay a professional when you can do it yourself? There are plenty of DIY guides around on the web for machine polishing and for the cost you'd pay a professional, you can buy a machine, 20 cars worth of polishes and pads and a paint depth gauge! Get a DAS6 Pro for example, really good.

I taught myself years ago and haven't ever regretted it. If you are worried then buy a scrap panel from a local breakers yard for pennies and practice on that!   :happy2: :happy2:

Thanks for all the comments :D I was extremely happy with the finish I managed to get.  I am thinking about DIYing the machine polishing but i will wait untill the shine goes away.  It felt so good driving the car on saturday and the amount of people that commented on the shine was unreal :D
