British Grand Prix
« on: May 26, 2013, 01:21:00 pm »
Has anyone gone to the British GP as general admission?

It's 145 for the Sunday or 230 for the cheapest grandstand ticket in the Village.

I quite fancy it but I'm not sure if general admission will be any good or not?

Anyone got any experience of it or tips?

Watch it on TV... and spend the 145 or 230 on several BTCC races!  :happy2:

I've done it a couple of times a few years back & the only advice I can give is get there mega mega early otherwise you won't see anything as all the best viewing areas will have gone! Having done general admission on race day I wouldn't do it again so the last few times I went I had a weekend ticket in a grandstand.

I've done it four times. Experience is unbelievable. I found the views fine the only thing was getting in and out due to the traffic, don't know if its improved or not. Even missed the start once due to the jams.

I had grandstand tickets along the main straight, personally it's much better watched in TV, you won't see much of the cars and end up having to stare at the big screen monitors anyway.

Having said that I wouldn't mind going to watch it at Monte Carlo one day

Exactly my thoughts, was at Silverstone last year and don't think I will go back, see much more of the action on tele. However I think Monaco would be good fun and have a great atmosphere.

+1for watching on HD tv. We sat in Copse A grandstand last year, great experience for the smells, noise and atmosphere but didn't know who was leading the race. As Rich says save the money for more BTCC races or even mods on your car.

Group buy Monaco someday  :happy2:

Did it the other year,it was cheap and cheerful, walked a few miles trying to get the best spot for seeing the different stages but for the money saved it was worth it.
