I just checked these screws in my car and they were both loose. My car is a December 2005 model with 40k on the clock. I also have a rattle coming from behind the stereo so will investigate that further next time I pull the stereo out as I suspect there some other loose screws behind there. If I find them I'll take some photos!

sorry to jump on your thread mate

- but I have a rattle in my MKV it's coming from the rear passenger side corner of the boot... it sounds like it's the parcel shelf rattling... but I have tested this by removing the parcel shelf and I still get the rattle.. any ideas what can rattle at that end of the car?!

i have this im tempted to remove the boot carpet and parcel shelf

My first post was meant to be my newbie saying hello post but I was hanging fire until I got some photos to accompany that one but just caught this thread!

I had a rattle in the back of my '57 Golf  GTi which I thought was either one of the folding back seats not pushed back up properly or the parcel shelf rattling.  Turned out to be the two seat belt buckles on the back seat knocking together.  Have shoved a bit of rag in between them to shut the rattle up but need to find a tidier solution I reckon!

I've also got a rattle coming from behind the dash so will  be checking them there screws tomorrow.
