my ed30 has really loud rattle noise coming from the central air ventilation panel. The noise disappears when putting pressure on by my hand. But I can drive like that forever....anyone has a good idea to fix this rattle. cheers

Velcro tape!!!! Take out the central vent and line the edges with strips of Velcro tape (sell in halfords)

worked for me, not a rattle since!!

sorry to jump on your thread mate

- but I have a rattle in my MKV it's coming from the rear passenger side corner of the boot... it sounds like it's the parcel shelf rattling... but I have tested this by removing the parcel shelf and I still get the rattle.. any ideas what can rattle at that end of the car?!

I know this is a very old post, but I thought I would quote it anyway!!

I had a similar rattle which was a complete mare to find. Having stuck my wife in the car behind the rear seats ( :innocent:) we found that the noise was coming from the very nearside of the tailgate. After much searching for something loose I took out the lens which is on the tailgate and discovered that the internal part of the lens was loose. It wasn't very easy to relocate it as it is a sealed unit, but I did manage and the rattle is now gone.

A rattle I had at the front turned out to be the plastic trim under the dash just above the pedals.Ireseated it correctly and now the car is all quiet again. :jumpmove:

Yeah, maybe I could've phrased that better. :ashamed:

It did cause a few odd looks from pedestrians, and I should've got the camera out but I forgot.

And thanks for the welcome. :drinking:

....Not necessarily - Besides being free to mingle, some wifeys/gf's like to keep a tight rein on the purse strings and this has been known to restrict what you can spend on your car.

I was married (20 years) but really enjoy the albeit selfish freedoms of being single again.

Given the choice between wining and dining a hot lady versus putting the money into saving for my next trackday, which would I choose? Yeah, you got it in one! The trackday.
