Gaz,

You can drive the car still on part throttle and off boost, just don't boot it as that will trigger the fault

So you can cruise it to Alex  :happy2:

Alex did mine... just under 400 supply and fit.

IIRC Alex said that the part from VW dealers is over 400  :surprised:

next question is how do I get it to Alex???, anybody know any good car transporters?

Is it going in limp mode straight away Gaz?

Mine went into limp mode and the next day Jim cleared the fault with vcds. The car ran fine again for quite a while.
I gave it a bit too much gas and again it went into limp.
While the engine was hot the fault wouldn't clear.

The next day I drove it carefully and it cleared on its own accord.

Have you been for a careful drive on a cold engine to see if it clears?

If it does clear....get down to AKS  :happy2:

Alex can do these in his sleep now

matey your not joking either, that's how I got it out, had about 4 extensions hanging down threw the front end of the car, got it loosened, then was able to finish it of with just one and hand twisting it of, was not easy.

There seemed to be a pipe in the way, so had the twisty on, then extensions from that  :signLOL:

I have been having a similar issue with mine and been able to put up with it for a while. It did become a pain so a new TB was ordered from TPS with the revised part number with the "Q" also. Definitely worth ringing TPS for a price and well worth haggling

Its not too bad a job to do at home on axle stands but i'd imagine its 10x easier on a lift.

changed this today, for the revised Q item, also I noticed the old throttle body was made by siemens and the new one was made by continental, hope they have made some improvements  :fighting:. Big thanks to Alex(AKS) for giving me some pointers and pointing me in the right direction for a very reasonably priced throttle body  :happy2:
The job isn't to bad, I'd describe it as awkward at best, some of the tricky little tools I have from the aircraft game made things easier. Overall I'm really pleased, as what I thought was gonna be a right b@ll ache of a job and pretty expensive has worked out neither

Thanks for the help fellas  :happy2:

I'm off done the pub now for the Friday club  :drinking:
