ive been using a air horn to scare the cats off,  they jump about 3 foot in the air and run like mad the other way  :signLOL:
i dont think your neighbours would be too happy about you blasting an air horn in the early hours tho

....I want one of those to shoot cats! Trouble is that you can get into a lot of trouble shooting at anything, no matter what.

The issue is that because i keep my car fairly well polished it obviously slips, sticks its claws out and puts fairly deep scratches in to the bonet,

....Be grateful you don't have peacocks strutting around your grounds. One of my more posh girlfriend's family in my youth had such a property and one day the cock peacock saw his reflection in the shiny side of a visitor's RR (Rolls-Royce, not Range Rover) parked in the drive and decided it was a rival male and entered battle. The side of the car was the loser.

....My neighbours are used to the various noises I make!

An airhorn is also useful for giving those uninvited sales callers a quick blast down the phone.

Any cat that enters my garden does so at its own peril. However, foxes and badgers are welcome.

Beavers welcome too Robin?

.... :signLOL:  :signLOL: - You know me too well!

Well, there is a river close to my back garden and loads of trees - Consequently all the bird life, some rare, and hence my hatred of roaming cats.

Beavers, eh?

we get foxes alllllllll the time

best method (already mentioned) is to put human hair (just get your sweepings next time you go for a trim) into the end of a pair of tights and place these around the area at knee height

works for us, the foxes kept eating our cats  :sad1:

urine does work too, but not very pleasant and useless in the rain

game turd from tigers etc doesnt really work either, if the fox is uber territorial it will simply roll in it.....and then walk up your car

dont shoot it, thats illegal

Cheers VC,

Unfortunately i live in a flat so have a communal drive area, not sure what my fellow tennants would think about having tights with hair haging around, though i might be able to sneak a couple in the bushes,

Maybe i can leave something under the car with hair in it, I suspect they'd be even less impressed if i wee everywhere

Cheers for the suggestions,
R

It's the human scent you have to achieve, a fox will change it's patrol route to avoid confrontation

I'll say it one more time for the sake of it, don't shoot it. Forum humour is fine, but you'll get busted so fast if you if you fire any weapon at it, even air weapons  :happy2:

the law is on the side of the fox
