Thats probly were I'm seeing it all as a nightmare, 1 guy going OTT as hes even playing with the horn! Just makes me think why more people haven't had this done!?
Plus it gets rid of a small scratch on the clock from previous owner.

you ca physically swap a set of clocks in less than 30 seconds if you wanted mate, its just the coding side of things that complicates things

Willzie if you have a midline cluster then you have a part highline central electrics module most if not all GT/GTI will have the Midline/Highline.

Interesting thread guys.  I changed my lowline to midline succesfully a while back but was looking to get a second hand highline to upgrade once more.  The research I have done suggests that Vag CAN Commander only retrieves SKC's from a cluster for up to 2006MY models.  Is this still the case?

I occasionally see the highlines popping up on ebay but they are always for the newer vehicles (mine is 2004 model).

Yep your right on that mate
If you are replying to me, I barely posted and you responded.  Remarkable

So that's one thing to be wary of then.  If you won't be able to retrieve the SKC (unless you're a main dealer) from a cluster from a 2007MY Golf onwards.

Yep I was talking to you matey lol. And your right. It's a dealer only or some shady mileage correction specialist. It was a dealer for me so everything was documented on official vw job cards etc

OK, thanks for the info'.  Maybe that's the only way to go then, especially if one is fitting a 2007 onwards cluster!  I will continue to search out a highline cluster from a 2004/2005 model and then it will be a lot more cost effective  :happy2:  Until them I am happy with my midline....at least I get to know the outside temperature, my old one never had that even!
