This car is really going to be something special

Stage 1 is going to be nuts with the BT but stage 2 sounds incredible. I like that you have made sure that the chassis is capable of handling the power. There are many cars out there running huge turbos with impressive power figures but the reality is that most of these cant handle the power. When it is all done yours will be able to eat alive most things on the road and it will be just as impressive on the track. Keep up the good work Jonny  :happy2:

I know this maybe a bit cheeky but a ride out in her at a meet would be brilliant. I would really like to see and feel how this thing goes  :happy2:

Sure mate, on the next event ill take you out in the car. Should have the bits done fairly soon hopefully!

Very useful mate! Thanks very much for that, I have been trying to find that out for a long time actually.. Its amazing how heavy they are!!

I know the VWR brakes save 18KG's, and of course all of that is un sprung and a lot of it is in the disk, which is rotational mass which is equivalent to 4x static weight loss..

Brakes next!!

I was expecting them to be heavy but at nearly 50kgs!

On the plus side, theres plenty of weight saving to be had.  :happy2:

....

Each VW stock front brake assembly weighs 15.10 Kg, so fronts would weigh 30.20 Kg - This info isn't out of any text book either online or otherwise - It's physically weighing them at AP Racing's works in Coventry.

Dunno about the stock rears.

I'm in awe at how your project is going! Its great to see someone fully mod a GTI like this in this country.

I would ask for a quick ride also, but I have a feeling there will literally be a queue haha!!

Im waiting also on some prototype front wings and rear arch work so that I can fit the 265/30/18 R888 tyres with the 9" wide wheels, this will make a huge difference in controlling the power..
