you can get a clear coat laminate to protect the carbon @ that price it would be wise investment.Looks good
Did you not buy a braille battery? just I see the original battery box and wondered why you still have it seeing as your slimfasting .

for the prev page I think the seats weighed 75-80kg (thats 2x fronts and rear bench)

Yeah I have the lightweight Braille Battery, I have the box in place to protect it, but to be honest, ill probably remove it.. Really it would only be a bit of dust etc that would find its way onto the cover..

Another job for tomorrow then haha..  :happy2:

Just been messing around with some numbers, and new ideas for weight saving..

If I go flat out then I can get the base weight down to under 1000KG's.. Thats the aim now! Its going to be a super light weight GTI..

Some mad ideas, will include lots of custom fabrication, and plenty more carbon bits, should be mega!!

Looking very very good Jonny...      can't wait to see it on Sunday.

I didn't know VWR did CF?!  I would have bought my bonnet from them if I'd known - your bonnect looks beter quality than mine, although i'm sure it cost more than £400  :chicken: ... still I'm also after wings, rear hatch (not with polycarbonate though) and maybe doors... but later this summer. My car's with JKM at the moment - I'm hoping and praying it'ill be fine for the strip on Sunday as its only got 255bhp due to the lean fuel issues with Stage 2+ on the car.

This is the first one on any car actually.. But yeah, I listed the price earlier, about double what you paid for yours..

Yeah, hope you get yours sorted in time mate, Sounds like a bit of a strange problem..  :scared:

....VWR have been getting carbonfibre parts made for their race cars for a while but, as you know, they don't hard sell.

Your bonnet looks absolutely stunning quality, Jonny and suits your car well. I don't think you need worry too much about 'looking like a chav's wet dream' (great expression) because yours is the real thing - Jonny McCoy!  8)

OSIR's carbon bonnets are I think the best of the rest - It's Horses For Courses.

Jonny, you could always get one of these portable bonnet struts : -
