I don't really think its for us to comment on the reasons for selling the S3.

I'm looking forward to seeing this ED30 though.

Oh I assume if you sold your previous mk5 to Regal, it will have been the one I saw at UDs this year? (very nice)

I was curious as he has taken a different approach while most are striving to move up the ladder Jonnyc pics a car that takes his fancy and goes for it, looking fwd to seeing how it pans out. I am sure it was your car that was GIAC'd and had a Dbilas originally that made me choose those mods for my car.

Thats pretty much it really mate, not thought of it like that before really but think you have hit the nail on the head..

I buy a car with a vision, so really the standard car is just the base that im going to work from..

I could easily have a much more expensive car, when you take in to account how much im going to spend, and spent on the S3 for example, but I would have to keep it standard, and that would kill me from the inside!! haha..

Anyways yep its going to be mega!

Didnt get a chance to take pics today, too cold and snowing/raining all day here..

Hopefully get some tomorrow now  :happy2:

Sorry for the late update on the car.. Here you go!  :happy2:

Quick Update..

Got 'most' of the work done on Friday.. Fitting some of the parts that I have been waiting for etc..

Also completed the intake system, really pleased with it, sounds great, performs great and looks great (in my opinion).. Sorry for the camera work  ;)

So today I had the VF engine/gearbox mounts, I had these on my previous MK5 and S3, a must, even on a standard car!! Also a set of Whiteline lower arm mounts with poly bushes, these also add 0.5 degrees caster which is nice..

Pic of one of the three VF mounts..

The lower arm bushes look like this..

And replace the standard unit (bottom in this picture, S3 units are a more solid rubber design compared to the GTI bushes)

The suspension didn't turn up, so ill be having that installed next week along with the KW top mounts.. Then its time for some more powerrrrrrrrrr!!!

The addition of the VF mounts and the lower arm bushes have already transformed the car!! Absolutely fantastic throttle response, no wheel tramp and great positive steering feel..

Heres a picture of the car (very dirty) with the new wheels.. Ignore the huge gap between the arches, that will all be long gone next week!!

Yes, Turini's again

Just love these wheels, Speedline only had silver in stock, so I didn't have a lot of choice on that front, but im really happy with the silver, may have the colour changed at some point but for now I think ill stick with the standard colour :)

The car already feels noticeably different with these fitted, little bit lighter, more urgent etc.. Very pleased with them :)

You can also see the 8000k xenons that I have installed, like I said, I was unsure about these, thinking that they could be of poor quality etc, low light output, too blue etc etc etc.. But they are fantastic!! The colour that you see here is pretty much how they look, imagine when you just turn your lights on, you have that lovely white/blue light, these stay like that when warm rather than changing into a more halogen look yellow..

So thats it up to now.. Back in the garage on Tuesday to have the coilovers and top mounts fitted and the whole car set up..

Ill post an update then!!

Yeah pleased with the wheels, as I said I cant wait to get it lowered now!!  :happy2:

No worries mate..

After driving the car a little more you really do notice the parts that have been installed up to now.. Engine mounts fantastic as usual but a big improvement in the steering feel from the anti-lift kit..
