Oh - also thinking of getting uprated engine mounts... after reading about them on R32OC and here.  This modding thing never ends does it?  :ashamed:

Lol.. The way that im tuning the car is the way I think that it should be done.. I could spend a fraction of the money making it fast in a straight line but for me thats pretty pointless..

I want to have the whole package, much like my S3 and previous MK5..

Anyways Ill be getting some pics up of the car with the coilovers fitted, and fully set-up today.. Just need to go and give it a quick wash as its a fairly horrible shade of brown at the moment!!!

....No - This modding thing never ends!!

....Yes - I'm thinking of engine mounts by VW Racing as next mod after they've done my suspension in early January.

Ok here we go..

Had a fair bit done since the last time I had pics up etc..

Suspension fitted, along with KW camber adjustable pillow ball top mounts, full set up and a set of Lamin-x fog light covers..

Suspension feels really good, not played around with the damping just yet, got them set mid way front and rear at the moment and they are a touch softer than the H&R coils that I had on the S3, but these will go a fair bit stiffer on rebound..

KW top mounts are very trick, wish I had taken some pictures of them, they are a work of art really!! Reason for buying them was to get some negative camber on the front end, otherwise not possible without either machining the hub or fitting longer bottom arms, both of which are fairly non adjustable lol..

Went for the Lamin-X fog covers just for something a little different, I really like these actually, not that I EVER use my fogs, pet hate when people drive about with them on.. But think that they add something to the look of the car!

Anyways still really enjoying the car, feels mega with a nice set up on it, the MK5 is super safe (ala S3) from the factory but it now feels alive!!

I think you'll agree that the car looks a fair bit nicer this low! At the moment I could drop another 30mm at the rear, and if I was to remove the helper springs from the front, another 50mm up front!! Not going to happen, as the drive shafts would foul the chassis, but nice to know that If I want to go lower I can :)

Really pleased that I haven't changed the colour of the wheels yet, they look stunning on the white car actually, this time the wheels are a much more brilliant silver, really nice finish!!

So heres some pics..

Let me know what you think!!

Thanks

Jonny

Looks like a different car now mate, strangely enough.. But gets a  :happy2: from me as well.. The rims do look very nice actually, especially now it's sat lower. Would still love to see what a CW Ed30 would look like with a set of black Turinis on, especially after you offered me your old ones before and I was really tempted..  :ashamed:
So what's the next step?

P.S. Was chatting to Kev Hall about you last fri actually and he showed me your site.. Looks like you've got a real bummer of a job there mate...

Lol, yeah thinking about having them black but really I have done it on my last couple of cars and I want to try something a little different with this set.. Put it this way, they wont be standard colour for long ha..

Thanks mate.. Yeah its pretty mega, very lucky!

Exterior still has a fair few more bits to be done..

Still not 100% happy with the front ride height, need to take out the helper springs to go any lower though, I want it dropped another 10mm at the front..

Going to have the front grille done in matt black, remove the front plate etc and have the rear bumper diffuser section matt black too. Also have some front tints done, really subtle, to blend them to the factory tinted rears.. Thats pretty much it for the exterior.. A few tiny details here and there but nothing major for now..

Then I need to do the brakes, as they are f*cking hopeless..

And thennnnn! Its time for a load more power..

are your coilovers the clubsport KW's and what are helper springs.

They are the FK Konigsport Silverline coilovers.. They use stainless Koni dampers, so the quality is really good..

Helper springs are a low rate spring which will take up the initial movement in the main spring, used in motorsport aplications mainly when the main spring can move on the spring seat if the damper goes into full droop whilst driving.. (taking off) or on road dampers when your running a constant rate spring (can be fairly uncomfortable)

These have a super soft helper which are fully compressed once the car is on the ground, and these dampers they use a progressive rate main spring anyways so the helper is pretty pointless on this application..

Hence the reason I dont mind taking them out :)
