Details are very sketchy, as it's a brand new wheel.

Turinis are roughly 400grammes lighter than a PR1.2 - so I'd expect all the Marmoras and PR1.3s in 18x8 guise to be in the same sub-9kg ballpark, which for any wheel is a decent figure TBH.

I weighed up my 1.2's and they were a little lighter than the Turini's.. hmm..

I'd expect the 1.3 (in the 8.5J size) to be a few hundred grammes heavier than the 1.2's, purely because of more material..

Ah - it was based on a comparison with Hurdy's and both with tyres on, which I guess must have been making the difference then. I suppose we forget that all tyres aren't the same either.
Sideways yo!

There really wasn't much in it, think almost a KG though.. Ill weigh the 1.3's before they have tyres fitted..

hey jonny i was thinking. before you had the fastest qtr mile mk5 dsg in uk etc etc.

now your going that step further, with the power and weight loss, how about another plan.

I now the meganne R26R has the record for fastest FWD factory car but what is the record around the fastest modded FWD car around the nurburgring. is it the same??

thinkabout it.......a lightweight, well setup big turbo'd mk5 GTI running huge roadlegal track tyres, controlled by a bloke who makes his living driving around such places.

surely that could be worth a shot, and withn reach??
do ya reckon you could take that title.

not that its a chall :driver:enge...

Yeah good thought, I have no idea what the fastest road legal FWD car is round Nurburgring, I guess that it will be ALOT faster than the R26.R time though..

Would be good fun for sure..

Ill do a few laps round one of the circuits that BTCC visit as see how the times compare to them.. Or GT cars etc.. This car is not just going to be a 1/4 mile queen at all.. So more than up for doing a few laps on a day if a few of you guys are turning up etc..

Ha well I would be there and would only want to do a few laps in mine, so yeah i'd be up for coming out with some of you guys on the day too..

Course, the ring record would be good, but very hard to prove without getting an independent mag involved or something of that sort, probs not very hard to sort out, but dont know if I can be bothered really..

1/4 mile record for fastest DSG / GTI / 2.0T FSI in the world will do for now..  :happy2:

Just thought I would put up some pics of the cam follower that was removed from my car.. The follower is the original that was fitted to the car, the car has covered 34,000 miles in total with this follower, and 32,000 of which have been with an Autotech fuel pump

The car has had its oil changed every 4000 miles, and always ran on fully synthetic.. Never had an issue, with anything..

Anyways this is my follower..

Looked completely fine, only the very top layer had been touched, worth changing for peace of mind if nothing else! I have seen cam followers with half the mileage running with standard pumps in a much worse condition!!

Anyways just thought I would post up for those that believe all the BS about Autotech pumps being sh*tty, there really not.. Its just the scare mongering that was around at the time that all the companies came out with the fuel pumps seems to have stuck with the cheaper options.. Shame.. But it obviously works!

Just shows, regular oil changes, high quality oil, and generally looking after your car will make everything last!

Don't believe the BS

the meg time is full lap of 8 min 17, the bridge to gantry would be 30 sec faster so 7 min 50, dont know what the fastest modded fwd car around there is, but 7 min 50 for fwd would be very fast, never heard of anyone doing that in a hot hatch so would be very impresive.

It wouldn't be hard to beat that at all.. The R26.R is a quick car out the box, for what it is its good, but its seriously underpowered, and lots of the pace just comes from the tyres..

Don't get me wrong its a nice car, a mate of mine has one with Stage 2 / De-cat Ti Exhaust / Intake / Intercooler.. Quick but absolutely no comparison to the Golf in terms of pace..

how would you rate a tuned meganne R26R with all the supporting engine mods done, as well as suspension etc in comparison to the golf. the meganne has the superior chassis as a starter?

Standard for Standard the R26.R is miles ahead.. But comparing my friends tuned R26.R to mine etc really there is a bit switch, the Golf is way faster on every type of road..

I think the Golf has a great chassis, just needs the diff / brakes / suspension etc to get it really sorted..

That is me sorted then
Need to drop some more weight now too :innocent:

Any more news on the schedule for the turbo being completed Jonny?
