That is mental, it's only like half a second off matching a face-lift 997 Turbo to 100 in worse conditions.....  :signLOL:

DSG doesn't seem to give a rats ass about the power which must be a reassuring thing?
If you have to ask why, you'll never understand.

Haha, yep.. Little bit larger than the K04, but drivability is amazing.. Seriously surprised me I have to say..

Oh its very quick, and from 60mph its amazing.. Not yet managed to use the power in 2nd gear but thats going to be pretty rapid firing through the gears..

Yeah, the DSG box is coping fine, takes it all in its stride, I think its a combination of obviously the Revo Stage 2 DSG map but also the progressive engine mapping and way that the boost on this turbo comes in so smoothly..

I feel that the gearbox is less stressed than with the K04 to be honest, its all a lot smoother than it was with Stage 2+ K04.. And faster too! I think you can probably tell but I couldn't be happier with it..

Would you recommend putting one of these on a Golf R?

For sure.. I would recommend fitting one of these to any 2.0T FSI out there!!

I would imagine the fitting of a BSH turbo kit and 3076R onto a Golf R would be very similar to the S3.. In which case I dont think you would be able to fit the larger exhaust housing because of lack of space due to the transfer box..

Other than that yeah, I would go DSG too.. With weight out it would make for a seriously quick car!

I still think that the bottom end would fail to cope.

On a side note how easy do you think it would be to change a Manual vRS to a DSG or am i asking for to much trouble

I know anything is possible just wondering how easy a job it would be.

didn't MRC map a GT30 on a boggo GTI to 400bhp?

That's what Charlie was saying at SRR anyway (as Doug took the car their to have it mapped on the DD dyno)

so its possible...but not sure how long it would last on the OEM bits of the AXX / BWA motor.

Bit more chance with a ED30/S3 block with stronger bits.

But if you want to use a GT30, you really might as well have the bottom end built to make use of the turbo.

ps: JC that acceleration in 2nd / 3rd gear is f'ing mad lol. Is torque/boost limited in the lower gears at the mo?

Yeah think they made 420hp with an ATP 3071R kit..

To be honest, at the moment without the fueling solutions out there to run more than 450hp on pump fuel the stock ED30/S3 block should be fine.. Its been done over and over without problems.. Again, as im sure you know, its not the headline power figure that determines the breaking point of an engines internals, there is so so much more to it.. And all of the motor failures I have seen up to now have been down to other contributing factors..

Running out of fuel, wastegate line disconnected, excessive timing and heat, coolant loss resulting in overheating and a big end bearing ceasing up, the list goes on.. Up until now I dont think there has been one case of everything being all good with the car, and simply snapping a road due to excessive power levels..

No torque limit in the lower gears, thats just me babying it ha.. Yeah, when it gets going its crazy! And thats only at 1.2 bar boost.. Its running 1.5 now and will be running around 1.7 bar at Santa Pod (or as soon as there is enough clear road to do some logging)

When BSH were dyno testing their own GT3076R GTI they saw an increase of 120BHP increasing the boost from 1.2 bar to 1.7 so there is plenty more to come from that video  :happy2:

Not possible on a VRs engine - sorry

If you swapped the engine and put in a new car and engine loom, matched up the mechatronic unit with the clocks and Vin unit then you'd be okay, but it means deep pockets

Sorry for the threadjack Jonny

Golf R gone.
