Nahhhh it will be fineee.. haha.. The wastegate has a 1 bar spring fitted so it wont even crack open in the slightest before that amount of boost is made, 14ish psi on this turbo will make over 350hp so you can very easily make good progress without making a big noise about it all..

OMG!! THATS AWESOME!!

Fancy york raceways on the 4th of APRIL, easter sunday?? think im gonna pop over then, i think its the first rwyb day of the year.

Yeah im free that weekend, hoping to get down for a run! Should have lots more done to the car before then too.. Woooo!

That vertical stack certainly looks mean and purposeful. Kinda 'Ice Road Trucker' in a way.

Ill be there barring something coming up between times yeah..

In terms of engine I dont really have much left to do really..

New intercooler pipe work, all done in aluminum pipe / bends with small silicone couplers, just to get rid of as much silicone as possible really.. Should improve response a little bit hopefully..

Finish up the intake heatshield, cold air feed etc etc..

Ceramic coating on the manifold / exhaust housing

New Turbo back exhaust system (this is mainly for weight) but should also free up some more power, this will also be wrapped fully

Build the motor with all the parts that I now have..

Then turn it all up and make some proper power!!  :happy2:

Jonny,

What is the reason behind the upward Wastegate vent, rather than a vent below the car?  Interested in the reasons behind, does it assist the wastegate/ lessen the back pressure on the turbine, thereby reducing the load on the rotor?

Nope, to be honest apart from saving a tiny bit of weight there is no advantage to it what so ever apart from its a bit of fun  :happy2:

"a bit of fun"? - I'd say a huuuuuuge amount of fun. I'd be enjoying it and laughing so much that I'd probably find it difficult to drive.
