I wonder if Jonny's dsg clutch pack was showing any signs of needing a beef'd up version with all that torque??

uprated dsg clutches have been developed. Cost around 1200 USD.

Just to confirm, mine is running on standard clutches with zero issues..

I've heard off DSG clutch pack issues from 2 tuners with car's running big power.

1200USD seems more than reasonable but I assume there's labour to consider on top.

With that amount of power running through the drivetrain and the extra stress a diff brings to the clutch assembly for peace of mind I'd like to see an uprated clutch in there. You just never know when they will give up!

doubt it he's already sold his car i think! And wasn't it a manual anyway? (not that i care really!)

Chungster only comes on every now and then so couldn't spot the dig from MR not so Sportsman. 

as far as i know his ed 30 was/is DSG

^^  And Chungster was talking about M Sportsmans car not Jonny's. 

There clear as mud. 

Basically the outcome of all this is Jonny's ED 30 DSG box is working fine and has been looked after with no cost spared, which can be backed up by his visits to VWR for regular oil changes on the box.
If in the future the box needs uprated clutches then that would be for the new buyer to deal with, if it is working fine now then i cant see what more the lad can do.
So can people stop trying to put a spanner in someone's sale without any evidence backing up there thoughts.

Mine was manual car but if were me buying I'd like to see an uprated clutch pack with those figures Johnny which are very healthy.

Have you any serious offers yet? Modded cars can take a while to shift as I found out previously.

I had a deposit on the car within 2 days of it being for sale..

Usually its easer to sell a car the more "one off" it is (as long as its not barry boys one off) so im not really surprised its gone pretty quick!, my Audi A3 i used to have had 4 people waiting for me to sell it.... then when i said i wanted to sell it, it was sold within 4 days!

My old Suprrcharged Civic sold the day I put it up for sale, The S3 (the first time round) went up on the Thursday and left the Sunday.. The second time round it was never up for sale, I was offered money from 4 different people just based on the build thread.. And the Golf I had 3 offers within a couple of hours of it being up for sale.. Either I'm lucky or like you say if you do it right then it's easy..

Either way I'm really happy with the new owner, he seems a great guy and fully appriciates the work that has gone into the car! I know it sounds daft but after putting so much effort into something I want to feel like it will be looked after to the level of which it deserves..
