Great thread jonny, just read the whole thing
Your have good thiking regarding this car, similar lines to what I have done, whats your thougts on a big turbo?
Ive recently gone the water/meth route to give the 2871R a higher yield, although cant beat a k03/k04 on spooling times :)
Love the weeight saving techniques, not sure I could lose all that comfort and sound dampending though, as mines still a daily commuting machine :)
How do you find the vibrations from the engine mounts?
Thanks mate..
Im really not sure on the big turbo route at the minute, the car is very quick, producing around the 370hp mark at the moment, so im going to get the weight down as much as possible first, see what I think and then make the call..
Big turbo is certainly a trade off between instant response and low down torque for top end power!
The car comfort really isn't being compromised, apart from the rear seats and AC being removed etc.. Neither of which bother me, as I will use the AC maybes a couple of times a year, and never have people in the back anyways..
The boot and rear area will be covered with a sound deadening material such as Dynamat soon, then a custom carpet is being made up by Justmatz to keep it all looking nice and neat..
The engine/gearbox/pendulum mount set up that I have on my car is pretty extreme, as I have said on another thread you definitely trade off comfort for performance in this area. The stiffer they are the better the traction, wheel hop, shift times, throttle response and overall composure of the car..
Jonny as said on SCN; read the thread yesterday and so impressed
How long you keeping this one?
Thanks again!
The original plan with this car was to have it until the start of the summer and then I was going to get myself something really nice.. I dont think that I can do it though! I love the car so much, and there is still a huge amount of things that Im wanting to alter, so really I think another year probably.. At least until the end of the summer..
