Im in 2 minds whether to keep the golf and mod it further or get something different around winter time.
Jonny what car are you thinking of next?
I really like the tt rs but the its not worth £45k imo

Either a Scirocco or a TT-S.. Cant really decide

I love the idea of the TT-RS too, but I agree, 45k is madness for a TT!

How about a heavily tuned 335i ?

Hey all..

Been a while since I last posted an update so thought I would bring things up to date!

So not really much more has gone on with the car since the last update, got the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels off Luca (cheers for those mate) and stuck a set of 235/40/18 Toyo R888 tyres on them! Absolutely stunning, massive grip in all weather conditions!! And they look mean as hell too!

I then went around the car and paid some attention to lots of little things that I had been meaning to do for a while!.. The engine way needed sorting out, I got myself some more of the gold heat reflecting tape and finished off the intake pipe, had a real mess around with an old Evoms filter heatshield that I had lying around in the garage and managed to make that work really nicely with the custom intake that I have on the car. And then got around to fitting the venturi cold air feed system..

I also got around to fitting the Forge 'Twintercooler' apart from looking great, not into big obvious front mounts on show, but I think you can just seen enough of this one to give it a nice purposeful look! It really performs great! The car feels much stronger mid range, and top end the power feels more relentless, I will be adding an S3 cooler too, with some custom hard pipes, hopefully this should set me up nicely for the BT!

I dont have any data but the intake etc feels a lot cooler since the intercooler, also the throttle response seems to be more eager, and when it comes on boost, its really solid, all the way to the red line! I would highly recommend this to anyone with an ED30 as the K04 really benefits from the extra cooling!!

Heres some pics of the engine bay now, really pleased with the results, much cooler to the touch, and noticeably less heat soak, in fact, I haven't noticed any since doing these latest bits!

This pic shows the cold air feed.. Cut a 4" hole with a cutter tool, and have the venturi sat behind it, nice and neat and really gets a load of fresh air into the air filter!!

Other than that the car was ready for Santa Pod, I was very happy with the results from the day! I know that there is more in the car, but the conditions on the day were far from perfect! Im pretty confident that on the right day, the car is capable of a mid 12 second run in its current guise! Pretty impressive I thought considering its on a standard turbo etc etc..

You can see the Forge 'Twintercooler' really nicely in this shot, looks great I think!

So had a really good time at Santa Pod, I did 4 runs over the course of the day, between the snow storms etc.. haha.. Had some problems with engaging the launch control after doing the burn out, but I ended up with a 12.98 @ 118.60MPH. Not bad for a standard turbo and road legal tyres!!

Heres a couple of vids of the runs..

Me vs. GT3071R S3 (1-0 Audi)

Me vs. GT3071R S3 again! (1-1 GTI) haha..

Heres my best run of the day, I had no launch control on this run, so I got a shi**y 60ft time, but a 12 second run never the less!

Until the next time!!

Jonny
