Right!

So taken a while to fit the bonnet, mainly because I had no one to help, quite tricky doing it on your own lol..

Also I've had to improvise a solution for mounting the washers as there was no mounting point, at the minute I have secured them to the scuttle panel but they will be in the stock location once I get the bonnet cut to accept the washers..

I have spoken to VWR and it seems this one being the first it has been missed, they will all be on there from now on..

Anyways thats a very small point..

The bonnet is stunning, fit is 100% perfect as OEM and put it this way, the box the bonnet was delivered in weights more than the bonnet itself, its very very light..

Not driven the car yet but for sure it will make a difference!

As for looks im still not 100% convinced if im going to leave it bare carbon, I do think that its the nicest aftermarket piece of carbon I have seen, for sure on the level of race car parts, which is no surprise really as its been manufactured by a carbon shop that supplies many race teams carbon work..

The bonnet fits with no trouble, mounts on the stock locations, the catch all bolts up nicely, takes a tiny bit of fiddling around to get it square but once its there, bolt it up and its mega!

I have decided to run it without the lifter, as its just way to strong for the weight of the carbon bonnet, so at the moment Ill just have to hold it or something haha..

Anyways im very happy, big thanks to VWR for a fantastic product! Even the pics dont do it justice, its perfect close up too..

Heres a new set of pics of the car.. (still got to do the vinyl and suspension adjustments, should all be done tomorrow for Santa Pod)

Let me know what you guys think!!!

Jonny

Ps. Carbon front wings (10MM wider) & Carbon hatch with polycarbonate rear screen will be making an appearance soon!

I know its still your daily driver Jonny, so you probably wouldn't want to mess about with this (and due to other complications also), but how much weight would be saved from getting rid of the xenons, and just putting normal headlights in?

I considered doing this as I heard that the Xenons are very heavy! Someone said 15KG more than the Halogens..

I will do it if its that much, if not then ill leave it, just need to find out comparative weights..

Looks great! What about a vinyl strip along the front covering the area where a bra would go, at least it would give a little protection from stone chips :scared:  could even have a little gti cutout in the vinyl near the edge so you could see the carbon fibre underneath  8)

I love you car - just wish I was brave enough to do it to my own 9 month old car !

Looks great, if I can be cheeky - what is the damage on a VWR Carbon Bonnet ?

I love the thread and the way your Edition 30 CS keeps evolving - awesome !

All the best

Yep, plan is to fit some 18x9's all round with 255/35/18 Toyo R888's..

Tricky part is making them fit, think I should be able to do it on the front without too much trouble, but the rears may require some fabrication.. (which is VERY expensive)

Just making a list of more weight saving ideas.. Its going to get extreme lol!

you can get a clear coat laminate to protect the carbon @ that price it would be wise investment.Looks good
Did you not buy a braille battery? just I see the original battery box and wondered why you still have it seeing as your slimfasting .

for the prev page I think the seats weighed 75-80kg (thats 2x fronts and rear bench)
