^ Now I have to say, that even as a strong traditionalist re the GTI 'red lipstick line', I really love that! On your car in that context, it floats my boat.

^ A touch of matching blue at the back? ^

Ding ding ding!!! haha..

Yeah, just a bit of a wait for them at the moment, I could get the Anthracite colour wheels now, but I want black, and it seems crazy to buy a new set of wheels and then have them done in Matte black when I can wait a few weeks and get them in the colour I want for no more money..

Going for 17x8 ET48, Im a little concerned over how they will look, but im sure it will be ok as the car is pretty low!

The main reason for going with the 17's is that they are super light! They come in at just under 7kg each, so thats a saving of just over 10kg's over the Team dynamics wheels, pretty impressive, plus its rotational mass, so you can times it by 4 to equal the same weight saving when compared to static weight loss..

Add that to the brakes, around 15kgs lighter than standard on the discs & bells and its going to be like removing another 100kg of static weight from the car..

Can't wait!!

love the blue as reminds me of this  :happy2:

Yeah didnt think about that, but a fair few people have mentioned it, so its kind of keeping to the VAG theme, which is nice

I knew you wouldn't be able to resist the lure of the Alleggerita's :happy2:

I've seen a few threads over on the MKV forum about having 255's on a GTI and hope/prayed/wondered if this is what you'd go for.

As ever...loving your work Jonny 8)

255's require a 8.5" rim really, it would be a step too far on a 8J..

Im going for 245/40/17's Probably Yokohama A048R this time, they have a stiffer sidewall than the Toyo's, which should help as im going even wider..

The car is going to end up another 18mm lower to the ground after the new wheels are on, partly due to the tyres being smaller than the big 235's I have on at the min, and also the arch gap being larger too, so ill be able to drop it a little more.. Should look like a roller skate! haha..

How many mods can one man do, there can't be any more left, but I suspect there are!  Jonny get yourself down to The Golf Centre in Darlo again one Saturday morning so we can all have a bit of a drool. :happy2:  I'm there every week and there's usually a few others.  In fact we'll have to have a mini NE meet there some time!  My black edition CHs arrive today for mk ED30, so I'll be showing those off this week lol.
