Thanks for the tips guys..
Update..I swapped over the driver seat (fitted to a passenger side base frame) to the passenger side where it belongs today. I also managed to get the whole seat about 25mm lower by removing a few parts, also saves just under 2kg of weight per side! Madness..
These parts are what your meant to use to attach the seat belt buckle, I have removed them and bolted up the seatbelt to a different location on the lower base frame. The buckle is bolted down to a higher gauge steel anchor point than it was originally so if anything its going to be safer!!
The only problem is that the buckle is now bolted the frame and not the seat, so if you slide the seat then the buckle stays with the frame, not a problem for me as Im removing the sliders eventually to save a little more weight and get the seats even lower. Having no rear seats means that I dont need to slide them anyways..
I also removed all of the trim on the sill so that I could unbolt the seatbelt anchor point at the bottom, removed the belt and then threaded through the seat so that it sits over your body and not the seat when the belt is done up.. The pic also shows the nice cover that I was now able to fit! it really neatens up the sill side of the base frames, makes them look very OEM, which is only a good thing!!
This is how the seatbelt sits on the seat now.. Really handy when you get in..
This is when the seat was in the car on the driver side in its standard
HIGH seating position..
And the new
LOW position..
This pic shows the orientation between the door and where your sitting, pretty low really.. Just the way I like it!!
The other base frame will be with me tomorrow, so I will finally be able to use the car again day to day.. Its a bit lonely with only one seat in it haha..
The other development is that some of the parts have arrived for the new intake that im making up on the car!
Heres the new air filter! Custom made ITG G60 turbo foam with a 4" inlet.. 180mm diameter and 300mm long!!!
The air filter is rated to 600hp, which may seem like massive overkill, well it is, but it certainly wont offer any restriction to the engine! The air filter that I had fitted I found out is rated to 375hp.. My car is running around that figure, so in theory its working to its upper limits, not ideal really..
There is unfortunately a delay on the composite parts, and as im away for the next week as of Thursday it means that the intake wont be on the car for a little while! Shame as I was looking forward to seeing how it performed..
May have some pretty exciting news on wheels too soon! Dymag Carbon/Mag 18x8 / ET48 / 5x112 finished in Matte black fitted with some nice big cut slicks..
Heres a teaser!!
Not confirmed at the minute but they come in at under 6kg a piece with stupidly low MOI numbers! They would really be a dream addition to the car!
Thats about it for now guys!!
Ill post some pics of both seats in the car tomorrow! (fingers crossed)
