Living the dream for everyone Jonny :happy2:

1275kg with the spare in and 3/4 of a tank is quite frankly a stunning weight to get down to :surprised:

You will have to put something heavy INTO the car though......an chain and anchor, so you can chuck it out if it tries to float away on a light breeze :laugh:

What is next on the list? lighter wheels if I remember?
Probably some CF panels?
More power?

Bloody amazing mate and yeah that was me behind you at 23.25 on Guisborough Road going onto Mallowdale!  Thanks for giving it some poke for me, it sounds absolutely amazing!  :driver:

Seriously I have been around A LOT of tuned cars, it's what I used to do, but I have never heard a 2 litre sound as reminiscent of a Lamborghini as your Golf sounded tonight!  :mad: Absolutely fantastic, you had me cheering like a groupie and I can't wait for the fun to begin on mine now!!!  :happy2:
 
One vulturistic question though, please can I have first refusal on the brakes?!  :wink:

looking good mate but there is no chance of getting it down to 1000kg unless u lose all the interior and add carbon fibre doors and plexi glass, it would be mad as fook if you did but 300kg is a lot to lose

I agree.. I just wish that I had weighed the car before I did anything to it  :sad: Then I would know for sure how much has been saved.. My best guess is that mine weighted around 1395KG completely standard, that means that I have got 170kg out of it up to now. I feel that this is pretty accurate now based on what I have weighted coming out of the car etc..

With the plans that I have remaining for the weight saving I should have another 90KG or so to come out, which would get the base weight down to around 1140kg which is looking like the most achievable weight to get down to without stripping the thing out.. Something that I really didnt want to do..

That would be achieved by the following parts..

* INTERIOR SOUND DEADENING REMOVAL
* OEM TT FRONT BOTTOM ARMS
* CARBON FRONT WINGS
* ALUMINIUM REAR SUSPENSION
* CARBON BOOT + POLYCARBONATE REAR SCREEN
* POLYCARBONATE REAR WINDOWS
* REMOVE SPARE WHEEL WELL / CARBON BOOT FLOOR
* DYMAG CARBON/MAG RIMS - 18X8 5X112 ET40

Power to weight ratio at the min is around 300hp/tonne and just with this extra weight saving it should hit almost 325hp/tonne..

I have some pretty mad plans as always, its getting there, just a slow process unfortunately..

The plan is to get it at a track day some time soon and see what it can do.. Ideally I want to compare the time to a BTCC car, I think the car is capable of being faster round a lap whilst still being fully road legal, that would be pretty cool!  :laugh:

Im glad youve said you dont want to completely strip out the car.

at the moment the car is an absolutely bonkers modded mk5 gti.

i think it would loose its road car roots if it was stripped completely. then its punching in the track car arena.

Yeah exactly, the car is my daily so I dont want it to become a stripped out track machine, that just looks sh*t anyways on the road..

Really the car look pretty much OEM, once I tidy a few bits up then the untrained eye wouldnt spot the difference between standard and my car (Apart from it being low and having different wheels).. Thats the aim really..

There are loads of little things that need doing to it to just make it all come together from a looks point of view..

* White bonnet
* Vinyl details exterior and interior
* Alcantara and carbon interior
* Carbon blanks for fogs
* Tidy up cold air feed
* Carbon heatshields for intake

The list goes on.. lol..
