Turbo valve?

Had the car read today due to a lack of power.
It threw up voltage to MAF and turbo valve as faults.
Before I book it in to be looked at is their anyway I can check if a pipe/clip etc has come loose going to the turbo or something?
And if so how?

I wonder if a new DV would solve?  Are you K03 or K04?  Very easy to check on K04

Does the power loss occur from the moment you start the car? Or only after driving a while?

If its just a standard GTI it will be KO3 if its a special edition (edition 30, Pirelli edition) it will be KO4

From the moment you start the car. It's standard so KO3, question is how don't check the DV and/or turbo valve?
Anything else it could be?

OK it's almost certainly the maf. As a start try cleaning it with a specific maf cleaner.

If you could post the fault codes it would help.

Ok will get hold of some. Can I use wd40 or something I can get hold of easier?

Supercharger/turbo valve

A new maf costs over £100 and has some sensitive parts - don't use WD40.

Personally I'd grab a 2nd hand MAF just incase you screw yours up cleaning it.  

Don't use WD or brake cleaner... you want electrical parts cleaner.... it's easy to foobar these things.. don't scrub it either, very little contact is advisable.

Great will try, just to confirm the MAF is the block connection with all the wires going into on top  of engine drivers side. Do I pull out and clean just the top bit or take off completely undoing the Torx screws?

I'd grab a backup so you can test to see if it is the MAF that's the issue.

To clean, you will have to remove the electrical connector then undo the torx bolts and carefully remove it from the induction pipe... spray with your electrical cleaner and allow to dry whilst still holding it and replace... I wouldn't even set it down.  If you goose it, the car may stall continuously after turning over; happened to mate of mine.

I bought a backup when I installed my CAI just incase.

Ok done the clean and took engine cover off to see if anything motivate detached pipe wise going to turbo, didn't make a difference and couldn't see anything :-(
Looks like having to take into garage and see what they say.
Any other thoughts on it?
