Help!
« on: June 12, 2013, 12:38:09 am »

I got my car back today, after nearly a week at the indy garage!

I posted a couple of weeks ago about the dashboard lighting up - because of the brake sensor issues.  They've had to replace the O/S/R brake hub assembly and fit a new sensor because it was completely mangled. Everything works fine and the ABS light has gone out - however, the ASR, steering wheel (orange) and Tyre warning lights will not go off. They've had it up on the computer and the car is completely fault free. I seen this myself.

What could be causing these lights to stay on?

The reason why it's been in so long is because I finally had the bumper issue sorted. It needed a whole new front panel and crash bar.  The mechanic has suggested I replace the standard light because the left sided one isn't sitting completely true after the little mishap - So I'm thinking of upgrading it to the Xenon's everyone here has been buying. So I would greatly appreciate it if someone could pass me some links to the best buys. Sorry, I know the subject has been done to death here.

Thanks.

Have they tried driving it round the block? You get those lights on the dash after a RR session and a quick drive is the only way to reset them

I've done about 20 miles in it, since picking her up. Still there.

I may be barking up the wrong tree but im sure there is a way to reset this which involves going full lock left and right (cant remember the full procedure).

I might be getting mixed up with a different issue / resolution but im sure a search will reveal what im on about!

Hope this helps

centre well + 10%
full lock left hold for 5 secs
full lock right hold for 5 secs
centre the wheel and drive a short distance in a straight line about 20 metres

try that   :popcornsoda:
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

I think I might know the issue here.

I've just read somewhere that a wheel bearing issue can cause the ASR and Tyre sensor lights to stay on - "due to the bearing's ring being rusty"

When I dropped the car off, I asked him to check the front right bearing - because I was certain it was making a slight slushy noise. He didn't think there was an issue - but I can understand why he couldn't hear anything, because you have to listen very carefully.

Where are you based? It really needs a scan with VCDS.

Arent all the lights on a key cycle... so they will turn off but the issue will still be there...
