Multi-car insurance
«

Hi There,
Is it possible to use my 6 years No Claims Bonus against a policy for a second car? I was thinking if they ask fro proof at this point my renewal doc for my old policy is from October so they might think tht would be too long ago, would i just need to contact my current provider to get them to verify?
Thanks,
R

you can only usually use your NCD for 1 vehicle, unless its a multi-car policy

Bugger, i thought that might be the case, its odd because none of the online forms ask you to declare if you are insured on another car, you'd think if its a rule they would let you know

Your best going with someone who will cover second cars, you should get a reasonable deal then

I spoke to my insurer (eSure) they said they would give me a 3 year NCB discount if i did it through them, but unfortunatly I couldnt add anyone else to the policy and the plan for the extra car is to insure the other half,
Oh well, back to square one

Ah I see, you can see why they do that - your trying to save on insurance so they'll make it difficult for you.

What about a multi car policy (Admiral)? My fiance got herself a little pug 106 and it only added £50 a year to what I was paying for the GTI on its own. It breaks it down so technically I'm only paying £300 and something for the GTI and she's paying £100 and something for the pug. Not too shaby I thought...

Hmmm, that is good, My current policy expires in October, so might look into Admiral at that point,

Admiral/Elephant/Bell allowed me to have 2 policies and the same NCB on both, but this was going back a couple of years so they may have dropped that for multicar now.
