OK, I have the original lpfp out now and the usp lpfp is in the tank. I'm going to order another pump to rebuild the oem lpfp for the next spare. But, I need to find someone that has torn apart their pump from the housing and fitted a new inline into the housing with success and pointers so that I avoid catastrophic failure and the like ;p I've been told a Walbro would fit right in as well as a Bosch but I guess since I haven't taken mine apart yet I can't see how an inline works in that configuration. Most times I take something apart I have no issues with getting it back together correctly, but I don't want to order one unless totally convinced.

So, any help with this is gratefully appreciated ;p

I have the old one out...which was quite easy to do.

I'm trying to make up for the lack of ability to match specified. My upgraded lpfp is still lacking I guess. I know above 4bar is good, but just don't understand this discrepancy on the graph...

Yes...maybe. It is managing to maintain a +4bar mark. This new lpfp is supposed to be sufficient up to 500bhp...but I believe it is a modified audi ttr pump.

I just want to go a different path by replacing the oem pump inside its lpfp housing to have as a back-up...

Fitting the 044 or the 255 is a pita. They are not pumps that can be voltage regulated easily. This can lead to the fuel pump controller throwing a fault.

Would you know of a VAG pump, other than a tt rs or rs3 that would be a proper upgrade similar to the modified TT RS lpfp that I just installed? And, that would also be acquirable here in the states?
