Do i Need a new Canbus?
« on: June 14, 2013, 08:09:25 am »
I have bought an RNS 510 rev C from a member on here and was wondering if i need a new CANBUS gateway I have an 06 plate GTI

If I do whats the best way to upgrade it ? buy a new one or ive heard of CANBUS workaround such as cables that are installed into the back of the head unit.

It was a complete pain to get a picture of  :signLOL:

You have an F so yes you'll have battery drain.

They're cheap to buy off eddie-nl
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Absolute nightmare lol on drivers side if you take out two screws above pedals where the air venting is, when they are out pull that plastic bit down then get on your back and go right underneath with a torch and look right up behind the steering colum should see a red tab thats where the canbus is, mines was held in with plastic clips and took me bout an hour to get out ( not fully but enough to get a pic lol, should be alot easier next time round lol.

Hope that helps
