Hi guys.
A good friend of mine runs a specialist car shop and has in a Leon Cupra (BWJ engine), that had been converted to a race car.
All the management is standard but the car has obviously had cut off switches added for the regs.
The car was a runner, having competed in the production touring car championship, but my mate took it as a non runner.
The owner has tidied the wiring and now it doesnt go.
It fires and runs for a couple seconds and dies. It is the spark which is being cut.
The key isnt the flip out job, looks like a 'spare'....does this have a transponder?
The car will not scan, my full VCDS cannot access any controller.
Two wires form the back of the OBD port have been paired back at some point....I wonder if these were bridged for some reason?
We are just really struggling.....as everything seems ok wiring wise. The key still troubles me, but the fact it has ran on that key seems strange.
And the fact we cant scan the systems doesnt help!
Could I try swapping anything over from my mk5 gti?
Any ideas would be a great help!
