Battery drain question....
« on: April 21, 2018, 01:33:18 pm »
I’ve got a 2004 Mk5 Golf which I’ve now just installed a RCD330 Apple car play unit now the unit seems to turn on and off with the ignition key, my question is will I still have the battery drain issue?

Well I managed to answer my own question today as the Golf was dead this morning, managed to find my canbus gateway in the end as a lot of posts said it was in the footwell but on my car it’s behind the ashtray, hopefully after a jump I’ll have it working again now I’ve swapped my gateway

The new can gateway will need coded or you may find issues which aren't faults so keep the old one and find someone with access to VCDS to tick the right boxes.

I installed the steering wheel interface..connect 2 on to my pioneer head unit and that stopped my battery drain as crazy as that sounds
