Howdy all
« on: November 30, 2008, 03:07:26 pm »
Just doin some research before i spend lots of pennies really.  Looking at a black 5 door (other half's decisions with kids in mind).  Can anyone offer me any ideas or tips/experiences etc... maybe something they would have liked to know when they got theirs etc...

So what MPG is the average (dont have a heavy right foot) any common probs that need to be looked for or questions asked?

Currently have a black astra so looking for something with a bit more go and comfort

Thanks, Alan

Heres the probs i love me black cars but also like the gti in white? looked on the vw site and found a 2007 (early 08 reg edition 30 5 door) for aroud 15k but has 17k on the clock. Or do i go gti standard with the 18 monzaII with far less miles for the same price? just working out finances too.  Whats the servicing on them like?

the ed30 seems a good price mate. white is a good colour but i love black. a 20k sirvice is around £225. then the next is around the £180ish. is that ed30 a import seems very cheap. dsg gearbox is a good thing to have and a  winter pack. the more extras the better. :driver:

Welcome to the forum A.H
If i had my choice again i would plump for the ED 30, nothing wrong with the standard GTI mind, you can just do so much more with the engine on the ED 30 .
Things to get if possible, High line computer, DSG, and Monza II if your going for a standard GTI, oh and check the condition of these, make sure the are in mint condition or knock the price down accordingly.  :chicken:
