Removing front wheel arch linings.
« on: June 19, 2013, 03:21:25 pm »
Going to be removing the wheel arch liners tonight or tomorrow to clean all the mud, leaves and general crud from under there.
Had a quick look on R32OC and it looks an easy enough job, just removing the screws and then it just pulls out?

Does that sound right? Anyone got any pointers?

It's very straightforward, just a few screws and wiggle it out.

Yes just remove all the screws you see attached, also when you are in there, check above where the arch lining was you should see a foam pad, either remove it, or remove it and cut one inch of it, as this is what causes the rust issue to your archs.  :happy2:

thanks
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

Silver is the way !

Yeap easy mate, just grab a little pot to keep all the screws in, about 15-20 in total per side.

I did my drivers side at the weekend as I was fitting my new DV.  The crud that came out was a lot, esp as not the nearside (picks more muck up from curb side). Will  be doing the other side asap.

All this muck was behind the arch liner, cleaned it all up nicely!

Cleaned the arch liner (both parts) as it was out:

Can clearly see the difference, shame its underneath, ha ha. Will get round to doing the others soon:

All the muck I got out:
