What gains expected from APR stage 1 Edition 30...

Guys, had my heart set on revo with the special offer on at GTI International, but after having my VW racing intake fitted at Milton eyes they tried to reside me to go with APR, a lot cheaper than revo as well!

My only concern is that they only estimate around 280bhp?

This can't be right can it?!

Especially with intake must be around 300 surely?

Thoughts please!

if you look at the picture above i think the 280 is KO3 2.0TFSI with Stage2+

im not 100% sure of the ED30 engine, is it KO4 like the Cupra? ie 240bhp standard? if so they you will get 300+ from Stage 1

Ive got the CDLA 265 engine in my LCR and got around 322bhp from Stage1, then went to Stage1+ and then Stage2+

Just be aware that all APR updates are free, whether its an actual update of software of a Stage change

Don't worry about what power they can achieve, you should be looking at how it's delivered and how drivable it it. Anyone can get 300bhp but do you want it in a quick spike at 3000rpm and the rest of the rev rage 200bhp?

Look at RR's, listen to other people who have had the map.

Peak bhp really means nothing in real world situations

Torque would be around 270-280ft/lb?

As said above though, you want nice linear power not just a "spike" then drop off

REVO/APR/RTECH etc etc..... they are all in the same ball park with peak figures.  Dyno results will vary greatly, but the actual performance differences at stage 1 will be very minimal betwen the various tuners.  The differences will become more notable the higher the state of tune.

Any of the above maps will hit 280-300Hp and 300-320lbft dependent on what dyno is used on what day.

Rung them today and they say my car is read by them at 222 and goes upto around 269. Just doesn't seem right?

I'm hoping she's mixed up on the phone and it will be nearer 300.

Nope. It also depends on torque and how the power is delivered.

if my car has 300bhp at 3000rpm then tails of quick, but yours is 270bhp non stop, yours is better :)
