Does the ITG enclosed intake exist..?
« on: June 20, 2013, 01:11:24 pm »
Hi all..

I'm sure this is the big debate as I've read a few things on here on what intake is the best...
And i can imagine there is no correct answer as its different strokes for different folks..

Personally I'm not wanting an open cone intake as I don't want the noise of one..

I'm after an enclosed one like the VWR intake, not sure about the twintake seems very bling..

But the question is do ITG do an enclosed one very similar to VWR one..?? I've not managed to find any where that sells them..??

I know the VWR is very expensive but as far as pedigree goes, if vw have there name to it.. It's going to fit like a glove and take the pain..

Cheers

Ben

The VWR intake is an ITG. It's nothing to do with VW themselves.

I've got the VW Racing one fitted to my eddy and its so much better than my old ITG open filter. Less noise and even feels quicker.

No those two pics show a TSi engine (top one and Mk6 GTi etc) and the bottom one shows a TFSi engine (mk5 GTi/ed30 etc)

However VWR just rebrand ITG intakes and stick extra £'s on it. They do the same with lots of things.

VWR are not a VW manufacturer endorsed tuner.

Exactly you won't find one, I've tried. My enclosed VW one was same price as ITG open filter one like I said above. Well worth it in my opinion.

Right VWR intake it is.. Seriously ball busting over £400..!! but it does the look the part, and I don't like the noise from the open ones..?

Does the VWR one make any noise..? I dont mine a bit of noise up front because the Tsi lump doesn't sound the greatest of engines..!!

Which car you have mate?

You can't here it suck at all, makes deeper exhaust note and turbo chatter/flutter when you want it too. Great bit of kit! Extremely well made.

2006 golf Gti. K03 2ltr.

Sounds like the one then... The forge twintake looks fancy but think the vwr sounds like the one
