Removing centre silencer
« on: June 18, 2013, 10:46:01 pm »
Anyone ever removed the centre silencer on the GTI exhaust?

Any increase in sound?

I have had my pre-cat removed and it sounds slightly better but just a tiny bit more sound would be perfect.

Most people opt for a suitcase delete rear silencer from blue flame. Search suitcase delete

you can remove one or the other, but not both. each individually will give an increase in sound but if you remove both the car will drone on the motorway and probably drive you bonkers

i have a full Blueflame exhaust with a suitcase delete but i've kept the middle silencer. i think it's perfect. bit more rorty when you're pressing on, but settles down when you're cruising. i drive an A3 though and these apparently have a little more sound deadening so I don't know how much different it would sound on a Mk5
