Got a call from the dealer today to say the wife's Blue GT had arrived. Called in on my way home from work, and it would have been rude not to take some photos. Have to say, even though it was dirty, it did look stunning.
Still got a couple of weeks wait before collecting, as we are off on holiday soon and it also needs the cherished plate from her current car transferring to the new one.
To surmise, these are the options we went for:
Xenon Headlights
Climate Control
Multi function steering wheel
Convenience pack (auto dimming mirror and auto rain sensing wipers)
Winter pack
Air bag deactivation switch
DSG Gearbox
Standard kit is17" Montani Alloys
15mm Lowered Sports Suspension (same as GTI)
High Line computer and dash insert
Blue GT Body kit including front air dam, side skirts, rear spoiler and extended bumper valance.
Cruise Control
Bluetooth
Rear parking sensors
Start / Stop Technology with engine cylinder deactivation.
288mm Vented front discs with 260mm rear discs.
Sport Seats with Alcantera / Leather inserts.
Twin Exhaust Pipes
Piano Black dash inserts.
To the pre delivery photos.....(sorry, got a bit carried away)

Got the fog light parts already in the boot as promised, and did a deal today where they are going to throw in the chrome exhaust pipe trims and underseat storage boxes for free as well. I've certainly got a lot to do when we do eventually take delivery :D
She certainly is a really nice looking car, and considering we ordered it blind (never having seen a Blue GT or the metallic blue in real life - just in brochures as they are still rarer than hens teeth in the UK), we really like what we have seen.
Have some jobs for when we pick her up which keeps increasing but currently is:
● Fit proper VW Bluetooth phone kit from her existing Polo
● Fit RNS-510 from my current Scirocco (when my GTD Golf arrives).
● Fit underseat storage drawers to both seats.
● Fit front fog lights, grills and new switch.
● Fit honeycombed lower grill from GTI (prefer this to the slatted one).
● Fit her genuine VW black / Chrome "Polo" door sill trims.
● Full clean, detail, machine polish, wax etc. Remove wheels and fully wax seal.
● Fit Chromed tail pipe trims.
● Fit front footwell lights (have these in her current Polo SEL - why they are not in a more expensive GT, god only knows).
● Remove "Bluemotion" badge from beneath the "GT" badge on the boot lid.
● Fit my special H7 xenon bulbs to the cornering light in the headlights (couldn't believe how yellow the standard bulb was compared to the xenon dipped/main beam).
In the UK, for some strange reason, when you order Bi-Xenon headlights, you have to sacrifice the fog lights, and we thought it left the front a bit boring, so we did a deal with the dealer that he would throw in all the hardware for a fog light retro fit FOC, and I would do the fitting. All the parts to do this were already sat in the boot waiting for me (fog lamps, grills, new light switch, connectors, bulbs etc).
Anyway, this is what we are hoping she will look like with the fogs fitted, and perhaps without the white protective sheet on the bonnet :D (very quick and dirty PS edit).
