Mk5 GTi or Edition 30??

I could have got an ED30 but decided to buy based on condition. I looked at 3 ED30s, and all of them had some problems. I found a recovery receipt for one where it had been run out of oil on a motorway. Another had some major accident damage. That and the interior of the edition 30 was a bit off for me so I went for a gti with leather that hadn't been battered. if you get bored just throw a k04 on at a later date.

Gotta agree with this. I wanted an Ed30, but all the ones I viewed were in a pretty poor state and I didn't fancy a long wait of searching to find the right one. So decided to opt for a decent GTI and add the K04 

can i ask how you went about getting a K04 sorted? where you buy it/who fitted it etc? be good to know as im thinking about going down this route in a few months and ive been looking a few different options...or send us a pm.ta!

As Graeme says, K04 bits do pop up in the for sale section fairly frequently. Fitted by AKS Tuning, who did an awesome job

I have a standard gti  with dsg and I have never had and pardon the pun I have never had so much fun with my clothes on!! Having never driven an ed30 I dont miss anything!! Going to get a stage 1 or 2 at some stage because the golf gti is wild...

Just wait til you start playing with it  Stage 3 GTIs are pretty mental

thanks both! ive seen bits cropping up every now and again so when the times right ill be putting my money where my mouth is
