First car 1.4 Mk5 golf
« on: July 17, 2013, 12:33:07 am »
So got my very first car at the age of seventeen and here it is. A blue 06 1.4 mk5 golf s. Nothing special but it is a first car. since i am not able to do any real performance mods the best way to spend my money is by doing cosmetic mods.

So this is the car the day i got it:

Didn't do much to the car for a while but have started to get interested in doing stuff to it

The first thing i did was give it a good clean starting with a wash and a clay

The next step was a polish and wax using auto glym super resin and HD wax which gave me excellent results

I then got round to dealing with my rear wiper as it hadn't worked since the day i got the car so i decided just to blank it  :happy2: . The best thing i found to use was a blank for a sink that would be used if a hole for a tap is not being used. picked it up from my local diy shop, primed and painted black

I also bought a new boot handle of a member of the forum as mine had got white worm. Didn't want the standard black background so pickup up some paint clearcoat from VW that was the same colour as the car. The chrome VW pried of the backing and I primed and painted the back of the handle and replaced the VW.

This gave me this:

Got bored and applied some yellow lamin X i had to the fogs. Probably have to get yellow bulbs to give a good yellow light when turned on

Bought some bulbs from halfords  . got some dyson white bulbs as they were £10 off. Pretty impressed thought they might have a blue tinge but they are super bright white

Gave the car a hose down and a dry with a microfibre, good to see the wax doing its job

Got some plans for this weekend so be sure to check back  :fighting2:
