« on: June 24, 2013, 01:47:52 pm »
iv got a bad curb mark 3/4 around my near side wheel :-( due to a dog playing chicken. so was thinking of changing the anthracite wheels to powder coat white gloss.
had mixed opinions so thought I'd get some feed back off you guys, if anyone can do a photoshop that would be good  :happy2:

personally, i think white wheels are tacky, but each to their own. Also, very hard to keep them looking fresh.

What about shadow chrome if u want a change?

I personally love white wheels and had them on my black civic.

But they stayed clean for about 30 seconds.

Although mine were painted by me, I'd like to think powder coating would be easier to clean.

Look immense when clean, also thought about painting my wheels white on my red edition30

White wheels only work on the right car and with the right wheel, not sure they would look that great on those wheels on the MK5. Be interesting to see what it does look like though if someone does a photoshop. Think someone on here had there wheels done in Aston Martin grey and they looked

I had white wheels on my GT4 and loved them, they were O.Z crono's though so kind of fitted in with the rally theme.

I do like the wheels as they are now and are easy to clean but do fancy the white look. but as said if they look horrid it's a lot of money spend if it spoils the look of the car :-/

My old civic had white wheels as standard. Absolute pain to keep clean  :fighting:

Brake dust coated them in no time  :sad1:

I would steer away from white mate dont think it will suit your car at all.

Anthracite looks good  :happy2:

I think white tend to look good on a rally inspired car as per the celica above but not the golf, think it would just look tacky, I'd go black on your car or stick to anthrasite.
I'm probably going to get my Moza II's powder coated anthrasite or a similar colour next month.

As an aside to this note that certain powder coaters insist on coating the hub face of the wheel and tapered wheel bolt seats. I recently did a track day at Goodwood where this coating melted and could result in a wheel(s) parting company with the car. I can say no more at present as I am resolving a warranty claim.

Be warned!

Gone but not forgotten :-)
