United gray MK5 GTI MY09
« on: June 29, 2013, 01:43:45 am »
Aloha to everyone again..

Have been registered for a while now but wasn't typing much (2 posts :D).

As I already said, my name is Frane and I am from Croatia. I own united gray MK5 GTI MY09 for 18 months now.

Bought it completely stock.

edit: my absolutely first mod was mfsw buttons. Car came without them i wanted them asap :). Since i have DSG it was a simple task.. just plug&play
Airbag off

MFSW buttons on

And coding from my friend Dario who is also on forum :).

That stock gti look didn't work for me, so i made it to look like edition 30 :)..  i also got new wheels... 7.5x18" KEI FIN7 with 225/40/18" GY eagle F1 asymmetric 2 tyres

Shortly after that i wanted to do something performance wise and I bought K&N typhoon kit (what a mistake  )

Anyway, to continue..

Few months after i decided to go for Revo stg1, so i went on a 400km trip to nearest Revo dealer in Croatia.

On the road i realized that some guy is selling Supersprint turbo-back exhaust for mk5 gti... of course, i had to buy it, so i changed my plans and got myself Revo stg2 instead stg1 :)

Old exhaust

Supersprint on floor

Supersprint on car :)

After that, i had to check what was the actual gains from all that so i went to dyno :)

Revo claimed around 280hp with stg2.. I ended up with 263.6hp and 395.5Nm. I didn't really care for the numbers cause car was pulling strong, and i was happy with it :)

To continue my story

So.. since i have full leather and summer gets freaking hot in Split i decided to tint whole car. Done by a professional with global window films  :happy2:

After that i got my hands on used BBS CH's from Audi S4 (B6). 8x18 ET43

I wanted them to look as new so refurb was only option

Also got a new set of tires for them. Continental conti sport contact 5 225/40/18

After that car looked like this

How do you find the continental compared to the Goodyear F1 Asym?

Those are 2 good tyres to compare as many on here favour the Goodyear over others including the Continental  :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)

From my opinion, continental is better in dry conditions and provides more comfort as opposed to goodyear which is better in wet and provides much better durability.
