fitting an RNS-510 to a 2008 ed30..

just asking some advice on fitting , if i put one of these units in is there anything else i need?  will my car suffer from battery drain?  many thanks for your help in advance :-)

Ed nl will advice you better but I think you should be ok and nadlad on here is selling one and Ed might be up this way to retro fit on mine so he could fit and code it for you

2008 you should be ok to just fit it (its 2007 and earlier that suffer). Do you have VCDS?

Shouldn't have battery drain. Mine's a 57/2007 and had an L-canbus (you need k or above). Remember that registration may not reflect build date. You can use the rns without coding but it helps if the car knows it is fitted.

Think about antenna placement.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

evening andy,   think it should be ok mate?  ive had enough of looking at the standard head unit now..lol, so its time for a change! what head unit you got in your golf? thanks for ya help mate  :happy2:

hi mate, no i dont have vcds? im pretty much a newbie to the vw`s mate, only had it a year and its totally standard..

yeah as you say it could have been built in 07 and sat in the showroom until 08...  yeah id like to get it fitted and coded so its all done properly :-)  you sat antenna placement? any thoughts of where to put it for best reception?

I have the alpine ine s900r in mine which has sat nav and blue tooth build in have a look in my build thread
