Yay! I knew the green stripe looks good. When I first suggested it, everyone gave me the evil eye!

I was thinking of lime-green stripe with lime-green brake calipers.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Green calipers to me say Skoda VRS, but with the green stripe i think it'd work.

I've just re-done my calipers, in black, as at the moment i'm going for a more U.S. look combined with stealth  8)

Wanting some advice not normal!

i have a 140 tdi, chipped to around 180, thinking of installing eibach sportlines.

i have noticed you have installed eibach springs, are they the sportline or pro-kit, staing you do many miles, i feel your advice would be very beneficial as it do many miles

on another note i am very intrigued as to the modifications you have done to achieve you power of 220hp, i too would like to uprate my power and more so torque, any advice would be welcome!

NN has a 170DPF so you'd struggle to get close to those figures without spending some cash on other stuff. im pretty sure that the 170 has a front mount intercooler not sure about the 140 though.

would be nice to see a TDI taken to the next level performance wise  :happy2: get it done  :P

Cal TDi

would fitting an intercooler from an s3, without other modifications improve the performance, i am looking to install custom exhaust turbo back shortly, so would the intercooler and exhaust be sufficient or am i looking at turbo upgrades etc?

your advice would be appreciated

Having done circa 1500 miles on themsince fitting i can say you'll be fine with the sportlines, once the shockers bed into there new lower stance they perform well.

I've done about 31000 miles since new, 10 months (ish) ago lol

on another note i am very intrigued as to the modifications you have done to achieve you power of 220hp, i too would like to uprate my power and more so torque, any advice would be welcome!

The 140 and 170 are different units, the 170 has a bigger turbo and a DPF.

I've had a DPF removal pipe fitted with a map to suit.

As Cal says, you will need to be spending some cash to have over 200+ from what i belive out of the 140.

But it would be good to see it done.

A hybrid turbo, panel filter, egr delete, bigger intercooler and cat free exhaust would be the route i'd go if i had the 140

How did you get on with the "full" brake lights?

FAIL  (but mainly due to me forgetting about looking into it  haha)

They do bolt straight in, but the pipe work might need alittl adjusting.
I'm currently on the hunt for the current spec S3 intercooler as they are bigger than the one fitted std to mine.

As i said above :

A hybrid turbo, panel filter, egr delete, bigger intercooler and cat free exhaust

That should see you over the 200 mark with the right map

Exhaust wise, miltek are popular. But you will need to get a custom down pipe made as there aren't any for diesels that i would use.
ONly the miltek DPF delete pipe, but thats isn't suited to your car
Don't judge me by your ability !

Thanks for this advice,

already on the route with a custom turbo back exhaust system being fitted in 6 weeks (thats how long their waiting time is), made by a company in Newcastle specialising in titanium and stainless exhaust systems, so hopefully that will aid the breathing.

Sportlines and Panel Filter being fitted on thursday.

Have you fitted your EGR from allard yet, if so have you noticed the improvement?

Thanks for the Advice NN, nice to come across someone with a good knowlege of Dirty Diesels

Would i need to fit both the intercooler and turbo together, orcould one be done without the other and if so which of the 2 would be better to begin with?

I know i am asking maybe too many questions, but thanks in advance for any answers that can be given!

Regards
Shaun

No, not fitted yet......too lazy lol

You can fit the turbo before the I/C but your intake temps will be alittle higher after prolonged use thus not benifing full, but this is only after a good spirited run

Idealy fit both together, but not essential - as per above

No  worries about the questions
