are yours the sportlines or the prokit?

Sportline's
Nice one, same here. They work amazing well don't they just for springs! Thought the ride was going to be harsh but its not too different to the standard springs.
Also, with the boot open option on your remote, does it not open when you unlock all the doors? That would be a pain

Has anyone gone down the S3 intercooler route? I found out that there only £240 direct from Audi.

Chris

Been thinking about it - but even at cost price (from Audi) it's still too much money on a very marginal increase IMO

If i find a secondhand one cheap enough i'd do it

£200 is just too much cash gamble on what is just my work sh*tter  TBH

Been messing about with the car again, now running a full Miltek and a remote cold air filter

The Miltek - dull to look at but hey  :P
It's the resonated version as i hate the sound of diesels with noisey exhaust

I've done what i did with the std system, tucked it up tight to the bumper (and no, it dosn't touch it  :happy2: )

Then we have my 'home-grown' cold air induction kit.

Please note this isn't finished, i need to fabricate a bracket then the cable ties will be gone  :P

And the filter sit behind the fog light grille, need an open face grille for the n/s really

I was abit cautious about doing this, because i didn't want that over powering boomey tractor induction sound that you can get from drilling the airbox and putting a direct cold air feed to it.

TBH i'm pleasantly suprised with the noise, it just sounds like a petrol turbo car sucking away.

The cabin noise is no more intrusive than the panel filter in the box i use to run.

I've been runing the cold air filter for about 450 miles.
The over all feel of the power delivery is better, alittle more linnier when coming on boost, alot more free revving with just the the cold air filter kit.

With the exhaust added it's marginly better still - but i'll comment more later as i've only done about 30miles with the exhaust on.

Looking good Tom! Was the exhuast a special "diesel" variant?

How's the Volvo situation going? Or still on the courtesy car?

I need to pop over and drop you that £ round and finish the Workshop Code error on VCDS. Did a bit of research and its supposedly because I'm using a WSC code which it doesnt like.

Volvo has been written off - starting the claim for loss of earnings, injury, property damage now.
Back using my golf for work and racking up the miles lol
Just over a year old now and 38500  8)

It's just the std GTI miltek - they run the same as the 170 diesel just with a 1/4 inch conversion pipe, the 170's have visable tail pipes , the other diesels in the range are hiddern as they don#t have DPF (neither does mine now though hey  :P )

Pop down anytime fella - i'm still off work  :fighting: - bored - we can sort it out then  :happy2:

The intake temps on that are a little high :surprised:

That was on a chipped uk map, which was removed and replaced with a Revo non-DPF map and it was a total transformation
The intake temps were alot lower, as the Chipped uk map basicly just upped the fuel and didn't change the ignition

I sold the car about 7 months ago now, since then the new owner had added an S3 intercooler and it going to consider a custom remap to suit
The intake temp's are 5-8 deg lower still with the intercooler !

The intake temps on the dyno graph have nothing to do with the map, thats down to the operator of the dyno. On a DynoDynamics dyno the air proble should be placed in the airbox/at the airfilter to get an accurate measurement of intake air temperature and it should closely match the reading that shows AT on the graph, if it doesnt then its a good sign of a dyno with extremely poor cooling / incorrectly placed temp sensor or a falsified dyno reading to show a higher final power figure.

P.s a diesel has no 'ignition' as such in the map.  :happy2:

with my experiences of chipped UK, id say your bang on the money with the Temp Probe scenario!
