New throttle body arrived today (thanks Alex), so I got to work fitting it tonight.

Once fitted, I cleared the fault code and did a throttle body alignment then took it for a quick spin. Full throttle/power is back now and no more EMS light, so I'm a happy bunny!  :smiley:

now on to revision Q  :signLOL:  my flapper motor was the next thing to go  :sad1:

Throttle body failure can cause the flapper motor to die too.  Sometimes brings up the flapper fault, but leaving the car for a few days tends to clear the fault for good.

It was an old part anyway, rev c ... the new part rev E must be faster with more bhp  :wink:

Replacement arrived this afternoon, fitted and just arrived at hotel ready for inters

Can anyone shed any light on why so many of these are failing yet? Seems strange that so many of these are failing so dramaticaly a lately :scared:

Mine went 2 weeks ago, only 19k miles on a Golf R.

New retail on the part is around £350 alone.

So here we go guys. It's not looking good at all. I have had my manifold replaced with new motor and that isn't the fault. The guy has cleared all faults apart from one which says about a wire. It's in German but It's a low signal to the manifold motor. He is still looking at it.

Did they change the wiring under the inlet manifold that goes to the injectors Ben?

VW has at some point recommended to change the wiring to the TB

Over the top mod list ;o)

Manifold comes with the wiring.  Get that changed over.

So I just called the garage and he said the wiring is brand new and he is thinking of taking it to a specialist to have a look at the electrical parts.

Good morning!  :party:
So I just spoke to Robert at H+G Tuning in Paderborn. And its been for an all night session at the electronic specialist.
Everything is now perfect apart from one minor fault and its the ECU :/ but my car is going in there properly on Monday. He said he should be able to repair the ECU so I am hoping next week I get the all okay and collect my car.

Hope this helps with anyone else's problem.  :happy2:
